Dr. Mira Sherer is a leading neurologist serving Brooklyn residents for over 35 years. As a doctor with a considerable amount of experience in neurology, her personal aim is to restore the health, confidence, and happiness of patients that suffer from both severe as well as mild neurological problems.
Dr. Sherer initially received her education in the USSR with MD degree at the Andizhan Sate Medical School before serving as a resident at the University Hospital of Andizhan State Medical School. After a successful career as an MD, she decided to specialize in cerebrovascular diseases with a residency in neurology at the same institute.
After moving to the United States, she received her degree of D.O at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, pursued a residency in Neurology at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, and eventually served as Chief Resident in Neurology at the same hospital. Dr Sherer later pursued her specialty in neurology with a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology. She now serves as an attending neurologist (P/T) at the Sleep disorders/ Pharma Research Institute in New York.
Fluent in both English and Russian, Dr. Sherer uses her extensive training an experience in the neurological sciences for diagnosing adult patients who suffer from a wide variety of related ailments such as neck/back pain, arm/leg weakness, headaches, memory loss, sleep abnormalities, and Parkinson’s disease.
With a certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Mira Sherer strives to give her patients the best possible care by diagnosing each case and designing treatment plans that will meet their needs.
