He completed his internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, where he was a Chief Resident as well where he built a strong foundation in comprehensive adult medicine, evidence-based diagnostics, and multidisciplinary management of complex conditions. He has worked and trained in the South Bronx for the past 10 years and is well versed with the patient population and needs.
He pursued advanced subspecialty training in hepatology at Montefiore Medical Center. With a patient-first philosophy, Dr. Dhawan excels at fostering trust through clear communication, shared decision-making, and personalized treatment plans that address both acute and chronic health conditions.
