About Brooklyn Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Lethanya John
Lethanya John is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who is trained to provide preventative care to patients of all ages by optimizing their overall quality of life with safe and effective practices. As an FNP, she is qualified to perform comprehensive assessments & physical examinations, determine diagnoses and plan treatments of care to manage acute and chronic illnesses.
Lethanya achieved her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Adelphi University. She began her career at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn as a registered nurse, where she gained experience working in the medical-surgical and neonatal intensive care units. From there, she transitioned from a hospital setting to the outpatient specialty of infusion therapy.
As an in-office and home infusion nurse, Lethanya learned the responsibility of undertaking an autonomous role, which she believes facilitated her growth and confidence in becoming an FNP. During this time, she was attending Molloy College to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing degree. Her education on the graduate level aided in the advancement of her knowledge and skills attained through clinical rotations in pediatrics, internal medicine, OB-GYN, and gastroenterology.
Lethanya has over 15 years of nursing experience and an extensive background in offering holistic patient-centered care to a culturally diverse population. With her compassion, diligence, and dedicated time in the medical field, she continues to develop trustworthy patient-provider relationships all while supporting better health lifestyles and outcomes in the community she serves.
